Where to get Internet in Rishikesh
There are several cafes and restaurants that offer free wifi. If you’re enrolled in a yoga retreat or a yoga teacher training course, your school is most likely to offer you free internet. If you cannot find a reliable internet, I advise you to buy an Indian sim card and use mobile internet. Surprisingly, it can be quite fast in India. At Ram Jhula, at the very beginning of the Market Street (some 15 meters from the bridge), there is a shop selling CDs and ayurvedic products, and you can buy a sim card there. As Indian government periodically imposes some anti-terrorist rules that involve passport applications and verification of all sim-card owners, you might have to wait a few days for you card to work.
There are several internet cafes in travel agencies in Ram Jhula (market street) and Laxman Jhula (main street), and a few places in Tapovan where you can use their computers.
