About

Julia is a passionate voice of the yoga for social change movement and co-founder of Awakened Spirit. With over 15 years of teaching experience, her teachings explore mindfulness, environmentalism and yoga as potent tools to inspire heart centered living and sustainable change. Her passion for yoga lead her to a 10 year pilgrimage in India where she has been both teacher and student.

A self-proclaimed anatomy geek, Julia draws from more than a decade of experience in body-centered therapies and physical rehabilitation and has taught individuals of many ages and abilities including teens, women who are pre- and post-natal, elders, as well as people living with MS, fibromyalgia, cancer, osteoporosis and chronic pain. She teaches from the heart and creates an environment in which her students can explore and discover their inner wisdom and potential. She believes that we all have within us what we need to heal ourselves. The emphasis in her classes is on alignment, yoga as a tool for transformation, the healing qualities of inner stillness, movement and breath for the cultivation of inner peace, health and wellbeing.

Julia collaborates with like minds to ignite radical innovation and positive change in communities. She facilitates holistic yoga trainings, workshops and transformational retreats internationally. Find out more at www.awakenedspirityoga.com
